Criminal Justice Internships

Interns_2008

The Office of the District Attorney encourages college students to apply for our Summer Criminal Justice Intern Program.  This unpaid internship, specifically designed for college students, runs from the beginning of June through the middle of August each year.  The program exposes students to all aspects of the criminal justice system.   Interns are assigned to work closely with Assistant District Attorneys, and assist them in all areas of criminal prosecution.  Field trips during the summer include visits to state and county correctional facilities.

As an undergraduate student, you will be given critical responsibilities that assist the function of the District Attorney's Office.  You will also have the opportunity to observe Courtroom proceedings, join the field trips and the police ride-along, attend the weekly training sessions, and participate in the mock trail as witnesses.

JANUARY 1, 2010: WE ARE ALSO CURRENTLY SEEKING ENGLISH AND JOURNALISM COLLEGE MAJORS FOR A SPECIAL SPRING AND SUMMER INTERN PROJECT INVOLVING THE HISTORY OF THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S OFFICE.

NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS AND RESUMES FOR THE 2010 SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM: APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED THROUGH FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2010. DUE TO THE LARGE NUMBER OF APPLICANTS FOR THE SUMMER OF 2010, APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY FEBRUARY 5, 2010.  QUALIFIED APPLICANTS WILL BE CONTACTED AFTER FEBRUARY 5, TO BE INTERVIEWED AT THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S OFFICE.
